An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

St. Michael’s Special School caters for pupils, aged 5-18 years of age, who on enrolment, and subject to psychological assessment have a diagnosis of a Mild General Learning Disability. Many of our pupils have a dual diagnosis, e.g. ASD

We are looking for a teacher to work as part of a dynamic and collaborative team here, in St. Michael's Special School. Experience of working in a special class/school desirable. Certificate to teach Religious Education desirable or a willingness to pursue this qualification if successful.

St. Michael's Special School operates under the Primary Section of the Department of Education & Youth and, as such, rates of payment, hours of employment, school calendar, etc. are in accordance with the Primary Section.

Appointments subject to satisfactory references, current teaching council registration, vetting requirements and Occupational Health screening.
