An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Special Needs Assistant (SNA) to support students with additional care and educational needs within our school.
Key Responsibilities
Support students with care, learning, social development, and wellbeing.
Assist students in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in school life.
Promote inclusion, independence, and positive learning experiences.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and relevant professionals.
Carry out duties in accordance with Circulars 0030/2014 and 0032/2026.
Essential Requirements
QQI/FETAC Level 5 Special Needs Assisting qualification (or equivalent).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative.
Commitment to confidentiality and child safeguarding requirements.
Current Garda Vetting.
Desirable
Experience working with children or individuals with additional needs.
Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, and emotional/behavioural needs.
Relevant CPD, particularly in autism support.
Additional Information
The successful candidate may be assigned to any SNA role within the school, including mainstream classes or the autism class, subject to school needs and allocation review.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory references, Garda Vetting, Occupational Health Screening, and compliance with safeguarding requirements.
Candidates with SNA Supplementary Panel rights must include a certified copy of a completed PF1 form.
