An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Along with this fixed-term post to cover a career break, there are two substitute-maternity posts to be filled, all starting on the first day of our academic year. The available posts will be filled from this interview process. The posts are for mainstream and SET positions but may change at the determination of the principal.

Killoughteen NS is a Catholic school. All teacher appointees must hold the appropriate Certificate entitling them to teach Catholic Religious Education.
We are seeking professionals who are team players and willing to contribute to the overall development of a busy school.

Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Previous teaching experience in a co-educational primary school of a similar size.
Knowledge of, and experience working with, pupils who have special educational needs.
Familiarity with and/or experience delivering Literacy Lift-Off, Guided Reading and UFLI programmes.
Experience of collaborative teaching approaches, including team-teaching in both Literacy and Numeracy.
Additional expertise, interests or involvement in areas such as Music, Sport, Information Technology, STEM, and extra-curricular activities will be viewed favourably.

Candidates invited for interview will be required to present the following documentation:

Evidence of relevant qualifications.
Current registration with the Teaching Council.
Valid Garda Vetting documentation.
Completed Medmark Pre-Employment Form.

Any offer of appointment will be subject to, but not limited to, the following:

Successful completion of Occupational Health Screening (OHS).
Satisfactory Garda Vetting clearance.
Current and ongoing registration with the Teaching Council.
Receipt of satisfactory professional references.
Verification of qualifications.
Submission of a valid Statutory Declaration.
Completion of the required Form of Undertaking.
