Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Bus Escort will accompany students on a taxi/bus from home to Loreto Secondary School, Kilkenny in the morning and from Loreto Secondary School, Kilkenny to home at the end of the school day.
The Bus Escort is responsible for the safety of the students on board the bus/taxi and will be required to provide students’ care needs including but not limited to assisting the students getting on and off the bus/taxi, securing appropriate seat belts, etc.
The Bus Escort is required to ensure a safe handover to the SNA in the morning, and to parents/guardians in the afternoon.
The Bus Escort is accountable at all times to the Principal/Board of Management of Loreto Secondary School, Kilkenny.
The Bus Escort must be available in the mornings and in the afternoons (approx 7:00 am-8:45 am, and again from 4:00 pm - 5:45 pm Monday - Thursday. On Friday the hours are 7:00am-8:45 am and 1:30 pm - 4:15 pm. These times will be confirmed once the route is finalised.
The Bus Escort must have their own transport to and from the pick-up and drop off point.
Professionalism, discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality is essential.
Experience of working with students with additional needs is desirable.
The appointment is subject to Garda Vetting and appropriate references.
School Transport Bus Escort posts are subject to NCSE approval.
Rate of pay: €15.98 per hour
