These are two fixed-term Special Needs Assistant (SNA) positions arising from the job-sharing arrangements of four SNAs.
The successful candidates will support students in both mainstream classes and/or a special class for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role involves assisting students to access the curriculum, develop independence, and participate fully in all aspects of school life.
Applicants should have experience working with students with ASD and demonstrate a strong understanding of their educational, social, communication, sensory, and behavioural needs. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
Experience in a post-primary school setting, a commitment to promoting student independence, and knowledge of evidence-based approaches and interventions for students with ASD are desirable.
Successful candidates will work collaboratively with teachers, the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team, school management, parents/guardians, and relevant external professionals to support students' wellbeing, inclusion, and overall development.
