An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Saint Peter’s National School is an inclusive school currently with one special autism class.
The bus escort will accompany pupils with additional needs on specialised bus transport from their homes to and from the school. An understanding of children with additional needs is important and the escort must have a caring disposition.
The escort is responsible for the safety of the children on board the bus and will be required to provide pupil care needs including, but not limited to, assisting the child getting on and off the bus, securing appropriate seat belts etc.
The successful applicant will work 15 hours per week, and with the hours split between the morning and afternoon, 5 days per week.
The school is the collection and drop off point for the bus escort.
Bus routes and schedules are sanctioned and organised by the Transport Section of the Department of Education and Bus Eireann. The contract is subject to change should pupils join/leave the service or school.
The vacant position is part-time, term-time only. Applicants must supply suitable character references and Garda Vetting is mandatory. A Form of Undertaking and a Statutory Declaration will also be required.
Hourly rate of pay is currently €15.66. Bus Escorts will not be paid during school holidays. Holiday pay is at a rate of 8% per hours worked and paid 3 times per year.
