An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Experience working with children with special educational needs is essential. Applicants should also demonstrate their ability to work as part of a school team under the direction of the class teacher, special education teacher and Principal.

Appointment is subject to the sanction of the Minister and Patron, satisfactory references, compliance with Garda Vetting and completion of a Statutory Declaration and Pre-Employment Occupational Health Screening for SNAs.
