An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Rathgormack NS is a co-educational Primary School with a Catholic ethos and is under the patronage of the Bishop of Waterford & Lismore. We are opening a Special Class for children with Autism. These two SNA posts are for our special class and both are 0.83 (infant day) positions. Rathgormack NS invites applications from highly dedicated candidates for the positions of Special Needs Assistant.
Experience of working with children in a special class for children with autism is desirable for this role.
We are looking for someone who can be flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the school.
We are looking for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic, can contribute to our team and work on his/her/their own initiative.
Candidates must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children & the school.
The successful candidate is expected to carry out duties as per circular 0030/2014 and 0032/2026
The successful candidate can be allocated to any SNA role in the school at any time, at the discretion of the school principal. This includes mainstream classes as well as our new autism class.
This post as part of our SNA allocation is subject to the periodic reviews which are carried out by the NCSE and the SENO.
Appointment is subject to current Garda Vetting requirements, Occupational Health Screening and satisfactory references.
Applicants who are deemed to be members of the SNA Supplementary Panel with Supplementary panel rights, must furnish a certified copy of a completed Panel Form (PF1) with their application.
