Eolas Breise:
Drogheda ABACAS Special School is dedicated to providing education for autistic children with complex needs, aged 4 to 18. Candidates with experience working in a special school setting, specifically with autistic children, will have a distinct advantage. The school is under the patronage of Autism Ireland
We seek individuals who are competent in using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive teaching technologies tailored for autistic students. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work within and lead a class team, have experience working with Student Support Files.
A strong understanding of the Continuum of Support, Autism Good Practice Guidance, and the Relate programme is essential. Candidates should be able to demonstrate effective application and implementation of these approaches in practice to support positive outcomes for autistic learners.
We are looking for a teachers who are committed to delivering the highest level of education for our students and is willing to participate in in-school training and external continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to the needs of our pupils and the school.
Candidates must be registered with the Teaching Council.
The Board of Management is looking to recruit the following
• 1 Fixed-Term
• 1 Carer's Leave
1. Only candidates shortlisted for interview will be contacted
2. Fixed-Term Vacancies will also be filled from this selection process.
3. Applications must be received by 15.00 on 12-06-2026
4. Interviews are scheduled to take place between 17th - 24th June
