An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Fossa National School invites applications from highly dedicated candidates for the position of Special Needs Assistant. The school is seeking a candidate who is flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the wider school community. The successful applicant should be energetic, enthusiastic, able to contribute positively as part of a team, and capable of working on his/her own initiative.
Candidates should be willing to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses relevant to the needs of the children and the school. Experience and/or training in working with children with ASD, OT needs, and medical care needs is desirable.
The three vacancies comprise of a fixed-term Job Share (0.85 Hrs), a fixed-term Job Share part-time position, and a fixed-term full-time position to cover a Career Break. All appointments are for the 2026/2027 academic year.
