St. Colman’s NS is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Diocese of Ossory. The present teaching staff comprises of an Administrative Principal, 9 Class Teachers (8 mainstream and 1 ASD class), 2 SET teachers and 3 SNAs.
This is a key leadership role, offering an opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal, the leadership team and the whole staff to support the effective management, development and wellbeing of an inclusive school community.The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong inter-personal skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active and progressive school community. A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential. Likewise fostering links with the wider community is desirable.
At all times, we strive for high academic standards, achievable by each child, where inclusivity is actively promoted. In addition, pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
The roles and responsibilities of this post relate to the 4 domains of Leadership and Management, as specified in circular 0044/2019:
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
