St. Joseph's NS (Roll No. 18640M) is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Meath, Bishop Tom Deenihan. The school seeks to appoint an Administrative Principal beginning on the 1st of September 2026.
The present staff comprises 1 Administrative Principal, 12 class teachers, 2 special class teachers, 4 SETs and 10 SNAs.
The school has 2 additional classes for children with additional needs.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the strong inter-personal skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active, and progressive school community. A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential. Likewise fostering links with the wider community is desirable.
This school always strives to be a child-centred, happy and safe environment for all its pupils to learn and develop to the best of their individual strengths and abilities. In addition to high academic expectations pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
It is the policy of St Joseph's NS to foster self-esteem and empathy and to value each pupil for their uniqueness and difference. High standards and expectations are promoted, with efforts and initiative recognised and rewarded appropriately.
The roles and responsibilities for post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and
Management as specified in DoE Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.

4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration and show evidence of and commitment to ongoing Professional Development. They must have an in-depth knowledge and experience of SEN, EAL and managing special classes.
Candidates should have the ability to foster the involvement of parents within the school community, as well as a commitment to inclusion and diversity.
The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria: Fully registered under Route 1 (Primary) with the Teaching Council and have 5 years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
