An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

The Board of Management of St. Brendan's N.S invites applications for the position of principal. Our school has a Catholic ethos and operates under the Patronage of the Archbishop of Tuam.
St Brendan's is an expanding , progressive school, currently employing 4 mainstream class teachers and 2 special education teachers. Our Rural school is a Deis school and is an integral part of the local community.

The roles and responsibilities for this post relate to the 4 domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 44/2019.

The following skills, experience and knowledge are desirable:
Experience in policy development and implementation
Leadership, interpersonal communication and people management skills
Experience of the SSE process
Previous teaching experience across a range of classes
Ability to promote a culture of learning and creativity in the school
Ability to work collaboratively with all staff members and the wider community
Understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic school
