Jonathan Swift NS is a rural, co-educational primary school under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin and Bishop of Glendalough, The Most Reverend Dr. Michael Jackson.
School staff consists of - teaching principal, one other mainstream class teacher, a part time Special Education Teacher, a part time EAL teacher and two SNA's.
The roles and responsibilities of this post relate to the four domains of leadership and management as specified in Circular 0044/2019
1- Leading teaching and learning
2- Managing the organisation
3- Leading school development
4- Developing leadership capacity
Along with the above domains and working closely with the Principal, the duties attached to the role involve whole school curricular development and policy development along with day-to-day management of personnel and resources.
Applicants for this position should demonstrate
* An understanding of and commitment to the Church of Ireland ethos of Jonathan Swift NS and a willingness to support and promote school and parish links.
*Ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with all staff members, Board of Management, parents and the wider school community
*Effective interpersonal, communication and people management skills
* Experience in the SSE process
* Previous teaching experience across a range of classes/ multi-grade setting
* An in depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum
* Understanding and knowledge of the requirements associated with the provision of Special Educational Needs, inclusion and diversity.
* Ability to promote a culture of learning and creativity in the school
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria:fully registered under Route 1 (Primary) with the Teaching Council.
