Scoil Iosaef Naofa, Cobh invites applications for the position of caretaker to be part of our staff and community here in Cobh. This position is for 15 hours per week.

The successful candidate will have:
experience in general maintenance and gardening skills,
very good DIY skills; painting, plumbing, an ability to work independently and show initiative, an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and compliance with school Child Protection Safeguarding Policy.

Some of the caretaker duties will include but aren't exclusive to:

* General maintenance of the school to ensure that the school facilities, grounds, rooms and play areas and maintained to high standard.
* Ensure that classrooms, staff room, corridors, offices and indoor play areas are well maintained contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for all
* Repair and maintenance of school furniture, windows, fittings and fixtures and the upkeep and renewal of paintwork.
* Upkeep of outdoor areas including playground, disposal of rubbish, grass cutting and gardening.
* Monitoring efficiency of heating system ensuring that the school is adequately heated during the cold periods of the year.
* Plan maintenance projects under the direction of and in cooperation with the Principal.
