Aughnagarron National School is a mixed Catholic Primary School under the patronage of the Diocese of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise. There are currently 45 pupils enrolled.
It has three mainstream class teachers, a full time Special Education Teacher, a visiting SET teacher and 1.5 Special Needs Assistant positions
The roles and responsibilities of this post relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in Circular 0044/2019.

Applicants for this position should demonstrate:
• An understanding of and commitment to the Catholic ethos of Aughnagarron N.S. and an ability to support and promote school and parish links.
• Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with staff members, Board of Management, parents and guardians and the wider school community.
• An excellent level of understanding and knowledge of school leadership, management and administration in a primary school.
• A commitment to shared leadership and a willingness to delegate and develop leadership capacity and empower others.
• Excellent people management and communication skills.
• An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a range of teaching experience within a primary school.
• Understanding and knowledge of the requirements associated with the provision of Special Education Needs, inclusion and diversity.
