The Role
We are seeking a reliable and caring individual to take on the vital role of Bus Escort. The primary responsibility is ensuring the safety, well-being, and care of pupils being transported between the Ringsend/Irishtown area and Good Shepherd National School.
This position requires a high degree of responsibility and a genuine commitment to the care of children with varied needs.
Key Responsibilities
The Bus Escort is responsible for all aspects of pupil safety and care during transport, including:
• Ensuring Safety: Supervising children throughout the journey to maintain a secure environment on the bus/taxi.
• Assisting Boarding and Alighting: Providing physical assistance to help children safely get on and off the vehicle.
• Securing Seatbelts: Ensuring all children are correctly and safely secured with appropriate seat belts and harnesses before departure.
• Attending to Pupil Care Needs: Offering general assistance and responding to the care needs of the pupils while in transit.
Route and Schedule Details
This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Journey Departure/Start Location Arrival/End Location Time
Morning Route Ringsend/Irishtown area Good Shepherd NS, Dublin 14 Arriving at 8:50 AM
Afternoon Route Good Shepherd NS, Dublin 14 Ringsend/Irishtown area Departing at 1:30 PM (13:30)
Essential Requirements
• Experience working with children, preferably in a supervisory or care capacity, is desirable.
• A strong commitment to the safety and welfare of children.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential for adhering to the strict school schedule.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Please note: Appointment to this position is strictly subject to the completion of successful Garda Vetting and the provision of appropriate character references.
