MPETSS, a developing school within the Educate Together Second-Level Schools (ETSS) network, is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment. As our school continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint a Part-Time Guidance Counsellor to support the wellbeing and development of our students.
About the Role:
This position involves a combination of classroom-based guidance education and individual counselling support. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with staff and students to promote personal, social, educational, and career development in line with the core values of equality, respect, and student voice.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver guidance classes as part of the school’s wellbeing programme.
Provide one-to-one counselling to students in a confidential and supportive manner.
Assist students with subject choices, career planning, and transitions.
Administer and interpret educational, psychometric and career-related testing where required.
Liaise with staff, families, and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
Uphold professional standards and maintain accurate records.

Essential Requirements:
A recognised qualification in Guidance Counselling.
Experience working in a post-primary school setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Familiarity with counselling frameworks and testing tools.

Working Hours:
This is a part-time role.
Flexibility may be required to meet the needs of students.
