Abacas Special School is a school for pupils aged 4-18 years of age with a diagnosis of autism and complex needs. Abacas is evidence-based and implements individualised educational and behavioural programmes for all pupils. Abacas follows the primary school curriculum and has also adopted the L1LP and L2LP Junior Cycle curricula for pupils of secondary school age.
The successful applicant will work closely alongside a team of highly experienced SNAs, an onsite behaviour practitioner as well as external visiting professionals, to deliver an individualised evidence-based educational programme.
The successful applicant will have significant experience teaching in a similar setting. Excellent interpersonal, communication and team skills are essential. Experience with implementing positive behaviour management and knowledge of Lámh, assistive communication technologies, TEACCH and the L1LP and L2LP Junior Cycle curricula.
Teaching council Route 1, 2 or 4 only. Teaching council registration required
