The Board of Management of Sallynoggin Killiney (SKY) Educate Together NS welcomes applications from teachers for a fixed-term teaching position with initial duties as a part-time Special Education Teacher (12.5 hours) as well as EAL hours (5 hours) in a vibrant and friendly Educate Together school.
SKY ETNS is a small, developing co-educational vertical school which opened in September 2022 with 11 Junior Infants in one Mainstream and one Autism class. As of September 2025, we have pupils up to 2nd Class. By 2030 we will have 8 Mainstream Classes and 2 Special Autism Classes. The school is currently located in excellent standard temporary accommodation just 1.5km from our permanent site.
The Educate Together ethos is central to our school and its development. We are committed to promoting the voice of the child, partnership with parents in our community and celebrating inclusion, respect and diversity. We are neuro-affirmative and promote a collaborative approach to education which honours positive and respectful relationships with all stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with Special Education Teacher experience to work alongside our motivated team to provide the best education and supports to the pupils in our school. You should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and committed and be willing to help our school grow into a positive, thriving school community.
The following would be desirable:
• dedication to the Educate Together ethos,
• an understanding of Restorative Practice and trauma-informed practice
• understanding of inclusive classrooms
• experience in play-based learning,
• evidence of active contribution towards school life,
• evidence of continued professional development,
• interest in STEM, PE and/or outdoor learning,
• leadership experience.
