The Board of Management of S. N. Na Maighdine Mhuire, Broadford, Naas, Co. Kildare (Roll No 18287W, Eircode W91Y512)) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the permanent position of Principal Teacher.
S. N. Na Maighdine Mhuire (Broadford N.S.) is a mainstream, co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin,
The current enrolment is 60 pupils. There are three mainstream classroom teachers, one Special Education Teacher, one SNA, a secretary, a caretaker and a cleaner.
This is a permanent principal position appointed through open competition in line with Circular 0044/2019.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Lead teaching and learning;
2. Manage the organisation;
3. Lead school development;
4. Develop leadership capacity.
The successful candidate will ideally demonstrate:
• An understanding of and commitment to the ethos of a Catholic primary school.
• An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a broad range of teaching experience.
• A good working knowledge of special education needs and of inclusion and diversity in education.
• Excellent people management and communication skills.
• A clear vision of how to lead quality teaching and learning and an understanding of the dual role of the teaching principal.
• A strong commitment to work collaboratively and foster relationships with all staff members, Board of Management, parents, guardians and the wider school community.
• Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives.
• Knowledge and capacity to successfully lead and administer a school.
The Principal Teacher is the Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year and is entitled to one Release Day for administrative duties per week.
