We are looking for a committed, caring and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our Early Intervention Classes team at the Shine Centre in Carrigaline, Co Cork. Applicants will work within a classroom team to support the learning and development of pre-school autistic children. This is a full-time position (31 hours per week). The starting salary is €27,400.00 p.a. with 10 weeks paid holidays per year.

Responsibilities Include:

Teaching children in both 1:1 settings and group settings with a focus on the child's IEP and individual developmental goals.

Supporting the class tutor in the management, planning and running of the class and
working as part of the classroom team to provide a safe, caring and inclusive learning environment for all.

Encouraging and supporting the continuous development of each child's independence skills in the classroom.

Preparing and supporting group activities including play, socialisation, art and crafts etc.

Working closely with the other tutors in the classroom to ensure open and effective communication.

Implementing programmes and recommendations set out by our Occupational Therapist and Speech & Language Therapist for each student.


Job Requirements:

Applicants must hold a level 7/8 qualification in Montessori Education or Early Childhood Studies or equivalent childcare qualification.

Applicants must be eligible for membership of the Teaching Council of Ireland (Level 7/8 degree as detailed above will/should qualify).
Experience of working with children with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
