An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Additional qualifications in Special education are highly advantageous .The ideal candidate will be compassionate and committed with a strong work ethic and an ability to function as part of a team .Excellent communication skills ,an understanding of school life , flexibility and a willingness to to engage in ongoing professional development are essential.
Knowledge and experience of working with children with complex needs ,challenging behaviours, intimate care needs , communication difficulties and autism .
Demonstrated interest in supporting autistic students with complex needs.
It would also be desirable to have experience of supporting the completion of personal pupil plans and care plans . Familiarity with the maintenance of low arousal environments and positive behaviour management approaches.
Experience in a school setting and confidence using digital technologies is also desirable.
A high level of discretion and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality is also required.
Appointments are subject to current Garda Vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
