Dun Laoghaire Educate Together National School (DLETNS) is looking for candidates to fill 1 Special Needs Assistant (SNA) post in mainstream classes. Candidates are required to have minimum qualifications as per the DES guidelines.
This is a fixed term (1 year) full-time post arising from a job-sharing arrangement at the school.
DLETNS is a caring and inclusive school located temporarily in Monkstown Grove. Our permanent school building will be delivered by the Department of Education on the site of the Old Fire Station in Dun Laoghaire.
Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, flexible, and able to work both on their own initiative and in a team capacity. All members of the school staff are expected to respect the school's ethos. We currently have a team of 6 SNAs. Communication skills, understanding of school structures, along with a willingness to engage in further training is extremely important.
Previous experience in working with children with complex needs is desirable. Initial duties of the post may change depending on the care needs of the children. The successful candidates will be expected to be flexible as work may be allocated in a number of classrooms.
The appointment will be subject to Garda Vetting, Occupational Health Screening, and completion of Tusla online child Safeguarding training.
