An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Scoil Chaitríona Senior, under the Patronage of the Bishop of Galway Most Reverend Michael Duignan, is inviting applications for an SNA for a full time post.
The post is subject to reviews by the NCSE and the SENO.
Appointments will be subject to vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
SCS has a highly trained staff dedicated to high standards for all. We are a senior primary school with special classes. Our school mission is “Mol an Óige; Believe, Achieve, Succeed”. The role may be in either the mainstream classes, or special classes, or a combination of both. The duties of the post will be subject to the needs of the pupils and the school and may change accordingly. The successful applicant will be working with pupils with a variety of care needs.
Significant experience working with pupils with communication, medical and physical challenges in an educational setting is essential. Candidates must demonstrate practical experience with the management of behaviours of concern and the promotion of positive behaviour strategies.
A willingness to work in the Summer Based Programme (2 weeks in July) is desirable but not essential.
SCS operates a secure pupil online database and via gmail/google drive.
Some IT skills are essential.
We are seeking a person who is positive, warm and empathetic with a desire to work as part of a team. The candidate must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children and the school. The Role of the SNA is as set out in DES Circular 30/2014.Roles and responsibilities are subject to additional relevant legislation and circulars.
