This is a part time bus escort position with initial duties to accompany a pupil on school transport to school every school day (Monday to Friday) in line with the school calendar year (182 days) .
This contract is subject to change should pupils join/leave the service.
The bus route will be from the school to the child's home and back to the school. Hours of work will be approximately 4 hours per week- initially morning route required only but this may be subject to change.

Key Responsibilities:
Assisting child safely on and off the bus.
Ensuring child is properly seated and secured before transport departs.
Maintaining responsibility for pupil's safety during the journey, until handed over to school staff or
a responsible adult.
Ensuring a responsible adult receives the child at drop-off point.
Maintaining positive communication with parents and school staff.
Respecting confidentiality in all duties.
They will need to communicate regarding pick ups, drop offs, illnesses, traffic. delays etc.

The successful applicant will be required to complete garda vetting, Children First training and
other relevant training.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working with children, have an understanding of
additional needs, and be able to work with parents and school staff in a professional manner
Applicants should be reliable, patient and flexible.
Additional Information:
Hourly Rate: €15.50 (as determined by the Department of Education)
Pay Frequency: Fortnightly during school terms
Bus escorts do not work during school holidays but will receive holiday pay as per regulations.
We will also compile a panel of substitute Bus Escorts to cover absences or future vacancies
during the 2025–2026 school year.
