An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Hilda's is a special school: we educate students with moderate, severe and profound general learning disabilities and complex SEN between the ages of four and eighteen years.
Experience of working in a similar special school setting will be considered advantageous. The desired applicant will have experience working as part of a team within a classroom and be able to demonstrate initiative in helping students with special needs access the curriculum. PECS, Manual Handling, LÁMH, positive behaviour strategies, Level 6 SNA qualification are desirable. Additional qualification in special education, including autism or a related area is advantageous.
The school is recruiting to fill one permanent positions and one fixed term positions. Duties are as outlined by Department of Education Circulars and include supporting students presenting with behaviours of concern.
