An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

This vacancy is for a fixed term to cover a teacher on Jobshare.
Abacas Special School is a school that caters for Autistic students between the ages of 4-18 years. Abacas is evidence-based and implements individualised educational and behavioural programmes for all pupils. Abacas follows the primary school curriculum and has also adopted the L1LP and L2LP Junior Cycle curricula for pupils of secondary school age.
The successful applicant will work closely alongside a team of highly experienced SNAs, an onsite behaviour practitioner as well as external visiting professionals, to deliver an individualised evidence-based educational programme.
The successful applicant will have significant experience teaching in a similar setting. Excellent interpersonal, communication are required as well as the ability to manage and and motivate a team.
Experience with implementing positive behaviour management and knowledge of PECS, Lámh, assistive communication technologies is desirable.
Teaching council registration is essential.
