St. Laurence O'Toole's Specialist School is a second level school catering for 20 young people between the ages of 12 and 16 who are at risk and present with behaviours which challenge.

The school is seeking a class teacher for five young people. Each class is supported by one SNA. Applications are open to both primary and secondary trained teachers. The role also comes with an AP2 post of responsibility.

The school primarily offers the Junior Cycle Level 3 curriculum and the Junior Certificate Schools Program (JCSP), although Junior Cycle Level 2 and the Primary Curriculum are used where required. Teachers plan collaboratively to support delivery of programs.

Experience in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Restorative Practices, Trauma Responsive Education is desireable but not essential. Training in TCI will be provided in full in September.
