Coláiste na Toirbhirte is seeking a bus escort travelling from Kilcolman each morning and afternoon for the school year 2025/2026. This is a part-time position every working day of school terms. Bus leaves at 8.15am approx each morning from Kilcolman and in the afternoon departs from Coláiste na Toirbhirte at the end of the school day Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities includes:
Assisting children getting on and off the bus/transport safely
Taking responsibility for the safety of the children for the duration of their journey to/from school, until they can hand over to school staff/parent/responsible person
Making sure all children are seated with appropriate straps.
Ensure that each pupil is received by a responsible person at drop off point
Build and maintain good relationships with parents and school staff
Observe confidentiality in all aspects of work
The ideal candidate will also have experience in working with children, have an understanding of additional needs in children, and be able to deal with parents and school staff in a professional manner. They must also be available to work in keeping with the school calendar.
Salary Scale: hourly rate as determined by the DES.
