Applications are invited for the post of Principal in the Central Model Senior School, Marlborough Street, Dublin 1.
Central Model Senior School is a DEIS Band 1 co-educational school under the patronage of the Minister for Education.
The post is a permanent administrative principalship and will commence on 1st September 2025. Recruitment and appointment procedures are in accordance with Circular 44/2019, Chapter 4. Specific Roles and Responsibilities for this position relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management taken from ‘Looking at our School 2022: A Quality Framework for Primary Schools and Special Schools’.

3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
The successful candidate will demonstrate their experience and understanding in each of these domains and be an excellent communicator with the strong interpersonal skills which are required to lead and maintain a committed, vibrant and progressive school community.
The following skills, knowledge, experience and competencies are desirable:
- An excellent level of understanding and knowledge of school leadership, management and administration in a primary school setting.
- A commitment to shared leadership and a willingness to delegate and develop leadership capacity and empower others.
- Demonstrate an understanding of DEIS and long-term strategic planning for the development of the school.
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and foster positive relationships with all staff members, Board of Management, parents/guardians and the wider school community.
- Excellent communication skills.
- An in-depth knowledge of the Primary Curriculum and a range of teaching experience.
- Understanding and knowledge of the requirements associated with the provision of Special
Education, Inclusion and Diversity.
