Ratoath Senior National School is a senior co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Meath, Dr. Tom Deenihan. The school seeks to appoint an Administrative Principal beginning on the 27th August 2025.
The present teaching staff comprises 1 Administrative Principal, 17 Class Teachers, 5 SETs and 4 SNAs.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong inter-personal skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active, and progressive school community. A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential. Likewise fostering links with the wider community is desirable.
This school always strives to be a child-centred, happy, active and safe environment for all its pupils to learn and develop to the best of their individual strengths and abilities. In addition to high academic expectations pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
It is the policy of Ratoath Senior National School to foster self-esteem and empathy and to value each pupil for their uniqueness and difference. High standards and expectations are promoted, with efforts and initiative recognised and rewarded appropriately.
The roles and responsibilities for post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in DoE Circular 0044/ 2019, Chapter 4.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning.
2. Managing the Organisation.
3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration and show evidence of and commitment to ongoing Professional Development. They must be fully Garda vetted, have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a recognised primary school in Ireland and hold a certificate for the teaching of religion. Candidates must be familiar with Child-Safeguarding and have recently completed TUSLA Chidren First. They must have an in-depth knowledge of the primary curriculum, a range of teaching experiences, experience of leading teaching and learning, facilitating change, with an understanding and knowledge of SEN, EAL and special classes.
The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health.
Please submit three hard copies of the Standard Application Form, Letter of Application and all other requirements including TUSLA Children First, Garda Vetting and Teaching Council registration certificates.
