An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Ratoath Junior National School is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Meath, Dr. Tom Deenihan. The school seeks to appoint an Administrative Principal beginning on the 27 August 2025.
The present teaching staff comprises 1 Administrative Principal, 12 Class Teachers (10 Mainstream and 2 ASD Special Class), 5 SEN teachers and 6 SNAs.
It is the policy of Ratoath Junior National School to foster self-esteem and empathy and to value each pupil for their uniqueness and difference. This school is a child-centred, happy and safe environment to learn where all the children are encouraged to develop to the best of their strengths and abilities.
In addition to high academic expectations, pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong inter-personal skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active, and progressive school community. A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential. Likewise, fostering links with the wider community is desirable.
The roles and responsibilities for the post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and
Management, as specified in DoE Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning.
2. Managing the Organisation.
3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration and show evidence of and commitment to ongoing Professional Development. They must be fully Garda vetted, have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a recognised primary school in Ireland and hold a certificate for the teaching of religion. Candidates must be familiar with Child Safeguarding and have recently completed Túsla Children First.
They must have an in-depth knowledge of the primary curriculum and a range of teaching experiences with an understanding and knowledge of SEN, ASD, EAL and managing special classes.
The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
