About Us:
Grange NS is a vibrant and inclusive primary school dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all our pupils. We are seeking a reliable and caring Bus Escort to join our team and ensure the safe transportation of our students.
Role Description:
The Bus Escort will be responsible for:
• Supervising and ensuring the safety of pupils during their journey to and from school.
• Assisting pupils with boarding and disembarking the bus/taxi.
• Ensuring pupils are wearing seatbelts and adhering to safety guidelines.
• Providing care and support to pupils, particularly those with special educational needs.
• Maintaining a calm and positive atmosphere on the bus.
• Communicating effectively with the bus driver, school staff, and parents as required.
Requirements:
• A caring and patient nature.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain order and ensure the safety of children.
• Reliability and excellent timekeeping.
• Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Vetting requirements will apply.
Terms:
• Part-time, term-time only position.
• Hours: Morning approx.8:30am-9:30am and afternoon approx. 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
• Pay: In line with Department of Education guidelines, currently €15.50 per hour
• Holiday pay will be paid in accordance with Department of Education guidelines.
