St. Joseph’s Special School is designated as a special school for students 5-18 years of age who have been assessed as being in the Mild General Learning Disability Range. Many of our students would have additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, Social Emotional and Behavioural Needs and /or Behaviours that Challenge. Experience of working in a special school environment and/or with students with Autism would be desirable and beneficial but not essential. Experience of working with students who present with behaviours that challenge in a positive, proactive manner would also be desirable but not essential.
Primary aged students follow the Primary curriculum while senior students follow the Level 1 or Level 2 Junior Cycle programme.
These posts will be for a Junior class of 6 students aged between 7 and 10 years of age.
Teachers with TC Route 1 or Route 4 registration are eligible to apply
There is SNA support in the room.
This contract ends Tuesday June 24th
Appointments will be subject to satisfactory references, occupational health screening, Teaching Council registration and up to date Garda Vetting.
