Principal Teacher Position at Wicklow Montessori School

Wicklow Montessori School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Principal Teacher. The successful candidate will be employed on a full-time basis from August 2025.

About Wicklow Montessori School
Wicklow Montessori School is a private, co-educational primary and pre-school. Our teaching programme is based on the Montessori method of education, combined with the National Primary Curriculum as set by the Department of Education. Our class teachers are passionate and enthusiastic with deep expertise in the stages of child development. We also have specialised teachers in French, music, computers, drama and sports. Our computer room and iPads allow our primary school children access to technology from an early age.

The role- Principal teacher
As a class teacher and the Principal of our Montessori-based primary school, you will play a dual role. As principal you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our students and fostering a positive school culture. You will be responsible for providing leadership, vision, and direction to ensure the smooth operation of the school and the delivery of high-quality Montessori-based education. As a class teacher, you will be responsible for the education of the students in your classroom, spanning two years of class.
The successful candidate must share the vision and core values of Wicklow Montessori School. They will also ideally demonstrate:
● Evidence of leadership skills and a proven ability to work as part of a team.
● Experience in the development, implementation, operation and evaluation of innovative school-based initiatives.
● Strong people management and communication skills.
● A passion for education and a commitment to child development.
● Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and students.

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria, be fully Garda vetted, have a recognised qualification and have a minimum of five years teaching experience.
