An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
Cloughduv NS invites applications for the position of a part-time Special Needs Assistant (SNA) on a permanent basis. We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and flexible individual to join our team and support students with additional educational needs in our inclusive school environment.

Essential Requirements:
• Candidates must have experience working as an SNA in a classroom setting with pupils with diverse needs, including Autism, Speech and Language Difficulties, ADHD, Challenging Behaviours, and Complex Needs.
• Experience assisting with wheelchair mobility, toileting (lifting & hoisting), and intimate care needs.
• A strong understanding of the role of an SNA in supporting students with additional needs.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience with the administration of medication.
• Additional relevant qualifications in areas such as First Aid, Manual Handling, Positive Behaviour Support, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support.
• Training in or experience with assistive technologies to support learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing in-class support to students with additional needs, as directed by the class teacher and Special Education Team.
• Assisting with the care and well-being of students, including mobility and personal care needs where necessary.
• Supporting students in social integration and participation in school activities, including on-yard integration activities with pupils of all abilities.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff to best support the individual needs of students.
• Participating in in-school training and planning outside of school hours.

• A current Curriculum Vitae (CV) including relevant qualifications and experience.
