In 2022, NABMSE EC responded to members requests by forming a cooperative of 20 special schools who had developed their own bespoke courses of study at levels 3 and 4 on the National Qualifications framework. This cooperative has recently been accepted as a group for QQI accreditation. Schools work together within the co-operative to share and review current programmes offered in their schools, and work to improve practice to meet QQI quality assurance standards in all aspects of their work. The role of the QQI Officer is to lead this group in their work.
