St. Muredach’s College are looking for a Special Needs Assistant who will support the learning of our students with Additional Educational Needs. This is newly sanctioned 0.5 position following an exceptional review by the NCSE on the SE needs of our students.


Essential:
• A QQI level 3 major qualification on the national framework of qualifications or a minimum of three grade Ds in the Junior Cert or equivalent.
• Duties will be in line with the most recent circular available online at

• Applicants should also demonstrate a professional, flexible, self-motivated and caring approach to the role and display initiative in the area of Special Needs Support.
• They must be capable of working with and supporting a range of special educational needs - emotional, behavioural, physical, medical and personal care needs.
• The successful candidate must also be a team player who is willing to collaborate closely with colleagues in creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be required. Interviews will be held shortly after the closing date and will be held in person.
