St. Christopher's Special School caters for pupils aged 4-18 with a Moderate General Learning Disability, pupils with a Severe/Profound General Learning Disability and pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder within the Moderate to Severe range. Many pupils have additional complex needs and/or multiple disabilities and medical needs. Experience working with pupils within the above categories of need in a special school setting is an advantage. The successful applicant should demonstrate experience and competency in the use of augmentative communication and assistive teaching technologies. Experience working with pupils who display behaviours of concern is highly desirable.
