St. Laurence O'Toole's Specialist School is a Department of Education second-level school catering for 20 students between the ages of 12 and 16 who are at risk. Students present with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties including Oppositional Defiance Disorder, ADHD and complex mental health difficulties.

Students engage with the Junior Cycle curriculum and sit Junior Cycle exams, as well as engaging with the JCSP curriculum.We operate a Primary School calendar and Primary school length of day. Classes have a maximum of five students per class and each class has an SNA.

The post is open to both Primary and Post Primary Teachers. Experience working with at-risk client groups is desirable but not essential.
Training in Trauma Responsive Education and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (excluding the use of restraint) will be provided.
