POST DETAILS
Additional Information:
There are two jobs available: One from 8:50am till 1:40pm (junior infant day) and one from 8:50am till 2:40pm (senior school day)
Experience working with children with special educational needs is essential. Applicants should also demonstrate their ability to work as part of a school team under the direction of the class teacher, special education teacher and Principal and display a strong work ethic.
Confidentiality and discretion are essential.
Desirable skills include
• Willingness to undertake courses which relate to the emerging needs of the children and of the school
• Suitability to the school and the needs of the pupils in the school.
• Adherence to the ethos and culture of the school
. Epilepsy & Epi Pen training
. Knowledge and experience of assisting children with emotional and sensory regulation.
Qualifications as set out by the Department of Education and Skills for this post (see DES Circular 0051/2019).
Duties of the post are subject to change depending on the care needs of the pupils and the school.
Duties of the post are as outlined in the Department of Education Skills 0030/2014 and other relevant circulars. The posts are subject to continued NCSE allocation and SENO review
Appointment is subject to the sanction of the Minister and Patron, satisfactory references, compliance with Garda Vetting and completion of a Statutory Declaration and Pre-Employment Occupational Health Screening for SNAs and completion of the online Túsla Child Safeguarding training.
Non-compliance with terms of the advertisement will automatically disqualify candidates.
