St.Johns is a vertical Co-Educational School with 3 Special Classes
(2 Speech/Language and 1 Mild Class)
Duties of the post are as outlined in the Department of Education Skills 0030/2014 and other relevant circulars.
Applicants must demonstrate the specific competencies and requirements to meet the care needs of children.Candidates are required to have minimum qualifications as set out by DES Circular 0051/2019,though having other relevant qualifications in SEN can be desirable.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Principal/ Class Teachers and will form part of a team of 3 existing SNAs. Candidates will be expected to show examples of working effectively in a team.
The successful candidate will be expected to complete 72 hours throughout the year as per DES Circular 71/2011.
Appointment is subject to current Garda vetting requirements,Occupational Health Screening and completion of the online Túsla Child Safeguarding training.

An internal panel of suitable applicants maybe set up to fill any vacancies which may occur within a specific time period(four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts)from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
