Additional Information:
St. Nathy’s College is a co-educational secondary school catering for post-primary school age students accommodating students with additional needs integrated in mainstream classes. As a Catholic voluntary secondary school, it caters for students from a wide range of cultural and faith backgrounds.
This is a specific purpose post comprising of 16 hours per week sanctioned termly by NCSE.
Minimum required standard of education for appointment to an SNA post is: a QQI level 3 major qualification on the national framework of qualifications or a minimum of three Grade Ds in the Junior Certificate or equivalent.
Key Competencies
Relevant experience of working with post-primary students with complex needs, communication difficulties, autism, diabetes, epilepsy, emotional and behaviour difficulties, physical disabilities and working with a variety of care needs is essential.
The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to work well as part of a team, be flexible, display excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate a willingness to engage in further relevant professional development.
PECS and First Aid qualifications are desirable.
Experience in the use of visual supports/timetables and positive behaviour interventions is advantageous.
Where applicable, submit a certified Panel Form 1 (PF1) with the completed application form.
