An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.

Drogheda ABACAS Special School is a school for autistic children with complex needs, ranging in age from 4 to 18 years. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the classroom Teacher, Principal and Clinical Director. Candidates must have significant experience working with pupils with Autism and complex needs within a special school setting. Candidates must demonstrate practical experience with the management of challenging behaviour and the promotion of positive behaviour strategies.
Experience in TEACCH, knowledge of Lámh & PECS. Qualifications as set out by the Department of Education and Skills for this post. Display a commitment to CPD. Hold the skills necessary to become part of the class/school team.
