An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
St. Paul’s Primary School is a Catholic Ethos school under the patronage of the Bishop of Meath, Bishop Tom Deenihan. The position advertised is that of 0.33 hours. It is a standard SNA position (2 hours and 8 minutes daily).
Initial duties in our ASD class but applicants may also be required to support a wide range of children with different special needs that have access to SNA support in the mainstream classes.
Applicants who are deemed to be members of the SNA SUPPLEMENTARY PANEL, with supplementary panel rights, must furnish a certified copy of a completed PF1 Form with their application (if applicable).
The successful candidate is expected to carry out the duties as per Circular 0030/2014.
To meet the needs of the school the following competencies are desirable:
• Knowledge and experience of working with children with ASD, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Diabetes, Challenging Behaviours and/or other complex needs.
• Experience with non-verbal communication systems like PECS and/or Lámh.
• Experience of working with children with toileting care needs.
• Child protection training and certification https://www.tusla.ie/children-first/children-first-e-learning-programme/
• Candidates must be able to work well within a team, display a strong work ethic, be flexible and demonstrate a willingness to avail of further training.
The successful candidate will be expected to respect the confidentiality of the students and school matters at all times and to respect and uphold the school’s Catholic ethos.
Applicants must have the relevant qualifications as per Department of Education requirements.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory references, current Garda vetting requirements, satisfactory pre-employment medical screening via the OHS and Patron approval.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in in-school induction and planning with principal and class teachers prior to the school re-opening at the end of August. The successful candidate will be required to carry out 0.33 (24 hours: pro rata) of the 72 SNA hours.
