Scoil Mhuire is a co-ed Catholic Primary School with 265 pupils. We have 4 ASD Classes integrated with our mainstream classes.
We are seeking two Bus Escorts to support and supervise these students whilst they come to and from school on transport. The candidates should have experience in working with and an understanding of special needs and be able to deal with parents and staff in a professional manner. Duties will include escorting children to and from school, assisting children to board and alight safely from the school transport, ensuring that all children are seated with appropriate straps and harnesses where provided and ensuring that each pupil is received by some responsible person at the school and home setting. Previous experience working with children with special needs would be an advantage but is not essential. Applicants must supply character reference and Garda Vetting and Chidrens First training are mandatory. The role is approximately 10 hours per week with rate of pay €13.40 per hour. The routes have not yet been finalised but will be approximately 1 hour before school opening at 9am and school closure at 2:45pm. The start and end point will be Ballyroan Village. Employment is during school term only. The contract is for one school year. Applicants are entitled to apply for Social Welfare entitlements during Summer closure. Holiday pay is at a rate of 8% per hours worked and paid 3 times per year. The post is a non-pensionable post. Interviews will be held in August.
