An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
We have two bus escort positions.
Position One is for 4.5 hours a day (22.5 hours a week) and involves one morning and and one afternoon run. The bus escort has up to now been picked up by the driver in the Newtown/Smarmore/Ballapousta area but it may be possible for the driver to meet you elsewhere on the route. If you have a query on this, please email principal.newtown@newtownnsardee.com. There are four children on the route with pick ups in Bettystown, Slane, Dunleer and Collon.
Position Two is for 5 hours a day (25 hours a week). The bus escort will be picked up from and dropped off after the route in Duleek, Co. Meath. There are two children on this route with pick ups in Duleek and Collon. One child currently finishes at 1.50 p.m. and the other child at 2.50 p.m. so there are two runs in the afternoon in the school year 2024/2025.
Please note that these positions are for term time only and dependant upon route.
Responsibilities: Accompany, supervise and care for pupils who are in our Autism Class on their journey to and from school. The bus escort is responsible for the safety of the children on the bus including ensuring seat belts are secure and that children get on and off the bus safely.
Experience Required: Experience of working with children with additional needs preferable but not essential. The bus escort must be kind, caring, attentive, patient and work well with children.
Escorts must have their own transport to and from the drop off point agreed.
Salary: €13.40 per hour, paid fortnightly.
