St. Michael's House Special National School Skerries is a school for pupils/students with a Moderate General Learning Disability and complex needs. Children have multiple disabilities including Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and hearing and visual impairments.

Currently, there is an administrative principal, an administrative deputy principal from late August, 5 teachers and 19 SNAs in the school. The school caters for children from 5 to 18 years of age.

Primary or Secondary Teachers will be considered in as long as they meet essential criteria.

Essential Criteria:
Applicants should be fully qualified and currently registered with the Teaching Council.
Experience teaching in a special education setting/special class, familiarity with technology.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience in special school setting/special education
Experience working with behaviours of concerns
Experience devising IEPs
Experience dealing with children with complex needs
Experience managing a class team of SNAs
Strong knowledge of Child Protection duties and requirements
Experience / training in augmentative and alternative forms of communication (PECS, Lamh)
