St. Brendan’s N.S. is a co-educational, urban DEIS Band 2 primary school with an ASD unit. The school has a Catholic Ethos and is under the patronage of the Bishop of Elphin, Bishop Kevin Doran.
The Board of Management of St. Brendan’s N.S. invites applications for the position of Principal. This is an administrative Principal role.
This is a permanent position commencing on 29th August 2024.The appointment will be made via open competition under the terms of Circular 0044/2019.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria: Fully registered under Route 1 (Primary) with the Teaching Council and have 5 years recognised teaching service, two of which must be in a recognised primary school within the Republic of Ireland.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities for this position relate to the four domains of Leadership and Management, taken from ‘Looking at our School, 2022: A Quality framework for Primary Schools and Special Schools’.
1. Leading Teaching and Learning
2. Managing the Organisation
3. Leading School Development
4. Developing Leadership Capacity
